On October 5, 2017, the Daniel A. Payne CDC’s Percy Julian hosted an event at the College Park Aviation Museum for students from the Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science.  The students toured the museum, learned about the history and science of flight and engaged in STEM-based interactive activities that helped them understand what makes planes fly.  The tour included an exhibit on Black Pioneers in Aviation from Maryland.   The College Park Airport has operated since 1909 which makes it the longest continuously operating airport in the country.
